We hosted a community event at the Rifle Range that included performances from local kapa haka groups, Te Pou Theatre and other Māori performers. Onsite we had a Māori market which included kai and kakahu. The event was supported by the Hobsonville Point Residents Society.
2023
In 2023, we created a space for the rangatahi of Te Ohu to plan and implement a whānau friendly community event. Our young people chose to host a movie about the great Navigator Hek Busby called Whētū Mārama - Bright Star. Held at Hobsonville Point Secondary School we were able to keep people warm and dry while while also feeding everyone who attended a delicious hangi.
2024
Partnering with Te Kawerau ā Maki and Hobsonville Point Secondary School we hosted a Hautapu on the whenua of Te Kawerau ā Maki and unveiled signs depicting the pictures of Te Kawerau purakau designed by Hobsonville Point Secondary School students. We then went to the Secondary School for breakfast where the students hosted a range of games and activities.
